"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

The Herdan Clan

Take this test!

You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

President Gordon B. Hinckley 1910-2008

Today around 7:00 pm. my sister called to let me know that President Hinckley had passed away. My first thought was oh my gosh I'm sad because he has been the prophet for most of my life. But then I thought about how happy he must be to be with his wife and especially Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Story Time!

we just started going to story time at the city library. They meet every thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the library in downtown Riverside. It lasts about an hour and they read stories, sing songs and play with toys. There are alot of moms and dads that bring their little kids. I work for my father in laws business running his BIG embroidery machines but only when there is work for me to do. it's been a little slow latley and I've only been working about once a week if I'm lucky. So being at home all day we just want to GET OUT sometimes. We also have park days every Friday and moms from my ward that are home meet there. We haven't been for a while cause it's been cold. The kids have a lot of fun. and it givesme a little adult conversation!

I'm starting boot Camp

Today I'm starting boot camp. My new year's resolution for the last 5 years was to lose weight and feel happy with myself. Every year comes and goes so fast and nothing. This year so far I have been doing good. Starting off slow. But so far since Jan. 1 I have not had any soda and have had fast food only two times. Which I get no french fries and have a chicken sandwich. Maybe a salad. So far I've lost 5 pounds. I figured if I exercise I would lose it faster. Back in the day when Tae Bo was new I got the "videos" and tried it. Just the first time I was sore the next day. So I know they work you. Well I was at Kmart yesterday and found this 3 DVD workout box AND the Billy Bands for only $20.00. I have really been wanting to get a gym membership but then i thought, what if I don't feel like going, then I'm still paying for the days I miss. I thought it would be a good idea to just get DVD's and do it from home.

What's Next

The other day Trevor discovered the oven. He opens it and climbs inside and bangs on the racks. I'm so paranoid about him getting to it while it's hot that I don't even turn it on. I had to bungiecord it shut. I don't remember Hollie getting into so much. But i guess it's a boy thing.

Potty!

Hollie finally has the potty thing down. she does really well and always tells me she has to go. Our little condo has one bathroom and it is upstairs so instead of running up there everytime she has to go I got a little potty to keep down in the kitchen. Well We keep it right out side the door in the garage because Trevor love to play with it. that just grosses me out. Hollie still has a hard time with number "2" and so she always comes running to me saying, "Mommie i need a diaper". I just need to work harder on that one.

Fishing for a BIG one!

Lance and Went fishing last week and were on the lake for like 8 hours. The new lake in Hemet-Diamond Valley Lake, has a 50% off boat rentals every Wed. So that's what we did. It was so nice to just be together, with out the kids and hang out. Lance even let me drive the boat. It was fun. I think the best part was the floating bathrooms they had out in the middle of the lake. we did not catch anything which makes it kinda boring. But i will go again. It makes Lance happy.

Scott and Ashley's Wedding

In the last post I for get the wedding pictures. Enjoy!

Catching up

So I have been with a broken computer for the last 3 months and have been going crazy with out my email, internet, myspace and of course my blog. But now we are up and running again. In the last 4 months we have had a lot of things go on. Lance and I had our 4 year anniversary in September. We just had a nice night out, kidless, went to dinner and just enjoyed eachothers company alone.

The kids had fun dressing up for halloween and going trick or treating. Hollie loved to walk up to the door and had toeither ring the doorbell or knock and would say trick or treat before the door even opened. They also had fun at the church trunk or treat. Hollie wanted to be a kitty cat and Trevor was a dragon.

Trevor finally got his first haircut. no more MULLET. A frien of mine told me about a place that does little kids hair. They have a jeep that they sit in and a movie playing. It was the cutest place called Monkey Dooz. check it out. Monkeydooz.com. Trevor did such a good job and now looks like a little boy. He finally started to walk and is now losing all his chub. He's such a sweet little boy.

Hollie turned 3 years old and had a Dora the Explorer party at the park. I was stressing cause it was really rainy for that week and the weekend was supposed to be worse. We had it at the park anyway. The rain stopped while we were there and started up again about and hour after we left. We had a fun time even though it was freezing cold. Thanks to all that came.

Christmas was fun this year. The kids really enjoyed it. Hollie finally understands the whole Santa thing and knows that she has to be good in order for him to come to our house. they got alot of good things but Hollie's favorite present was her Barbie Jeep that has a REAL radio. It sits in the garage until we can take it out and she will just sit in it, in the garage and play for a long time. it doesn't even have to be moving. She just loves to sit in it.

My little brother Scott got married on the 29 to Ashley Johnson. They got married in the San Diego Temple and are on a cruise right now as we type. We are so excited for a new sister to add to our family. We love her!

Well that about sums it up. Now that i am some what caught up I will keep on top of the updates. We love you all!
