"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." — Marjorie Pay Hinckley
We were able to meet Elder Hall's parents at Fish Lake this past week. They took us fishing and we had to bring back the fish we caught with them and share. I think he was a little homesick. Sorry Elder Hall. (he goes home in 3 months. They both do actually). He helped us fry the fish. Digging in. I even tried it. sorry not my thing. Trevor even tried it. He didn't like it either. My mom has a missionary wall at her house. I'm gonna start one too. The elders came over tonight and taught our family the third discussion. We love our elders and the spirit they bring to our house.
Our family this past week had a family reunion at Fish Lake Utah. We stayed in little cabins. We had so much fun. This is the kids in front of our little cabin. Driving the boat Lance getting the poles ready enjoying the boat Trevor loved to touch the worms. They even liked to put their feet in the freezing cold water. this is Elder Hall's (from our ward) family. His mom and Hollie. Elder Hall said his parents were gonna be at Fish Lake the same time we were so he told us how to find them and we did. They took us out on their boat and with them we caught all the fish. Thank you Hall family. We had soooo much fun. Trevor loved to touch them. Here is my BIG fish. One of Lance's many catches trevor caught one and Hollie caught one. Trevor loved to pull the rope up to make sure all the fish were still there. Loving the boat ride. Lance had two at one time. Final result. 15 fish all together. Lance learned how to fillet the fish. Yuck! First day fishing. The kids each got their very own pole. Us at the lake I got the award for catching the "BIGGEST" fish na na na na na na Lance. Lance got the award for catching the "MOST" Fish
Hollie starts kindergarten August 25 and I have no clue what to get her as supplies. I am gonna get her a backpack but not sure what she will need. I don't want to spend a ton but want to make it exciting for her. HELP me out all you pros out there with school aged kids.
I saw this idea today. Looks disgusting but i think I'm gonna try it! If you want to try it, just stick dry spaghetti noodles through hot dogs and boil. I thought about adding a sauce, but I think the kids would see that as detracting from the fun.
We went to the water park in Moreno Valley last week and had a fun time. We had a pretty big group come with us. Here is all the kids that came. And here is Hollie and Roxie We had a fun day.
Last week Hollie got her first "Real" hair cut. We went to Monkey Dooz in Canyon Crest .
Hollie got about 12 inches cut off which we are gonna donate to Locks of Love She loves her new hair and is excited to start kindergarten next month. (oh my gosh is it already a month away!!!) Here is the before and after
A couple of weeks ago they had a firetruck visit the library. Trevor was in heaven.
Here he is helping hold the big tarp. This is a way to get people to jump from a second floor and catch them. Then he is rolling on the ground doing the "stop, drop and roll." Hollie wasn't feeling good so she just sat in the stroller relaxing. Trevor got a fireman badge (sticker) Checking out the truck. Picture with daddy. Even got to take one with the firemen.
