"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

First day of kindergarten

Hollie started kindergarten today. I have been a little worried because she has been saying the last couple of days that she doesn't want to go. She doesn't do well with change. When we got to the school she had a hold of my arm and wouldn't let it go until she saw the swings. Then it was time to line up and she clung to me again. I walked with her to her classroom and went inside but didn't want to sit with everyone else. The teacher came and pryed (sp?) her off of me and said go ahead she will be ok. Hollie started crying and I walked away. I cried the whole way home!

My dad came over last night to give Hollie a blessing. (We always got one the night before we started another year of school)

The first thing Hollie wanted to know is if they had swings at her school. She found them right away before school started.

She would not let me take a picture of her from the front. Maybe tomorrow. This is the only one i got with her backpack on.

I guess she had a good day! She was asleep before we even got out of the parking lot.

I'm sorry that the first day was so rough. She sure looked cute! What did she say she thought about it after you brought her home? Did she do better after you left?
